The OWYHEE DAM was a dress rehearsal for the HOOVER DAM. 120 meters tall. 120,000 m2 of concrete. It impounds 1.5 km3 of water, to irrigate 500 km2 of Ag land below the dam. It was a tremendous mistake, flooding a spectacular high sagebrush steppe canyon. Stopping salmon migration all the way to Lake Winnemucca in NEVADA
